Founding Partner Albert Horn Receives Commendation Award from San Mateo County Board of Supervisors
Burlingame, Calif. (June 12, 2026) — Honoring his legacy as an attorney and his decades-long dedication to public service and philanthropy, Anderson Yazdi Hwang Minton + Horn founding partner Albert Horn has been recognized with a Commendation Award from the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. Horn, now an emeritus partner at the firm, received the award from Supervisor and former Congresswoman Jackie Speier at the board’s June 9 meeting. He turns 100 next month.
The award read: “The Board of Supervisors commends you for your tireless work for the community, your mentoring of youth, and your leadership for many nonprofits, including as President or Chair of the Mills-Peninsula Health Care System, Mills-Peninsula Hospital Foundation, the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County, the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, the Peninsula Community Foundation, the Stanford Alumni Association, and the Boy Scouts of America. On the occasion of your 100th birthday, we honor the youngest – in spirit – centenarian of San Mateo County. May you continue to bring joy to all those around you and celebrate many more birthdays!”
Professionally, for more than 50 years, Horn advised families on strategies to acquire wealth, preserve it and transfer it from one generation to the next. His background in business, tax and estate planning made him a sought-after expert in succession planning for family-owned businesses.

Luke has been with the firm since January 2021, beginning his career as an associate attorney and quickly distinguishing himself as a valuable contributor to the estate planning, wealth management and tax practice. He has extensive knowledge and experience with resolving tax issues as well as providing sophisticated tax planning and estate planning solutions tailored to minimize the income, gift, and estate tax consequences associated with wealth transfers. Luke earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of California, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the United States Tax Court.

She earned her J.D from Stanford Law School, where she was awarded the Gerald Gunther Prize for Outstanding Performance in Estate Planning.
Filip joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2019, and has utilized his extensive tax background to develop sophisticated wealth transfer strategies, and tailor estate plans to minimize the income, gift, and estate tax consequences associated with wealth transfers. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and completed an LL.M. Taxation at New York University School of Law.
